Welcome to my website! I am a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research centers on conceptions of civic education and citizenship in both the history of political thought and contemporary political theory. In particular, I am interested in the epistemological, pedagogical, and political assumptions that inform our understanding of the scope and function of civic education in liberal-democratic states. I also work on Ancient Roman political thought and contemporary liberal theory.
I graduated from Carthage College with a B.A. (summa cum laude) in Political Science in 2017. I also spent a year (2017-2018) teaching English and European History at Chongqing Normal University in China.
